Hormones regulate pretty much everything in the body through the bloodstream, and together with the nervous system, they manage the body’s function.
Signs your hormones are imbalanced:
• acne • irregular menstrual cycle • changes in hair, nails and skin • dry skin or mucous membranes • problems in the menstrual cycle • infertility • depression and anxiety • mood changes • weight gain • sleeplessness and tiredness
For example, amongst 35+ hormones in the body where all work together, estrogen is a sex hormone, especially in women’s bodies (although it can be found in men also!).
Low estrogen levels can cause a variety of symptoms. Also, the over the top levels of estrogen are not much better.
✨️Smoking and alcohol lower the estrogen level, while testosterone level (in women!) rises.
Testosterone is also a sex hormone, especially in men. To add testosterone, for it can as well be over or under levels, are the same things as for estrogen: nutrition – adding good fats, staying away from alcohol and smoking, knowing the sugar intake for having sugar lowers the testosterone level immediately etc.
✨️For testosterone, though, losing even a little bit of weight helps because any excess fat in the body transfers testosterone into estrogen.
Also, to fast add extra testosterone is a short and heavy, HIIT-like workout that brings a ton of testosterone.
✨️So, in short, here are things you can do on a daily basis. When your hormones are balanced, you feel balanced.
1. Balance the blood sugar – the most important! Eating well and regularly. Protein!
2. Go outside every day
3. Meditate
4. Prioritise sleep
5. Get some sunlight
6. Women: eat+move according to your cycle
Things to do to add estrogen:
• Adding good fats+maca+flax seeds to a diet
Testosterone:
• Above with the good fats plus adding zinc+vitamin D+magnesium, whether from a diet or a vitamin jar
